Environment, Quality & Safety

– A comprehensive solution for sustainability

Environment

With IPUR’s comprehensive solutions and advancements in polyurethane recycling, we consistently stay at the forefront, offering innovative techniques that simplify the recycling process. Polyurethane has evolved from being difficult to recycle to now being part of a circular system. Some variants can be melted down, while others can be ground and reused.

At IPUR, we recycle waste from our production and offer all customers the opportunity to return used products. By blending 90% recycled material with 10% new material, we create new, sustainable products.

Quality

Our quality work is an ongoing process where we strive to improve both the properties of polyurethane and the efficiency of our production. A key to our success is creating optimal conditions for our employees by investing in equipment and professional development.

Through training and participation in industry seminars, we ensure that we use the latest technology and adhere to updated standards.

Safety

We prioritize the safety of both our employees and the environment by providing the necessary training and protective equipment, which is regularly updated. Our production is certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.

Through active membership in national and international industry organizations, we stay continuously updated on the latest research and regulations regarding workplace safety and emission levels.

ISO 9001
  • ISO 9001 establishes the criteria for a quality management system that focuses on the efficiency of quality processes, helping you work more effectively and reduce the number of product defects.
  • It promotes the adoption of a risk-based process approach, emphasizing requirements, added value, process performance and efficiency, as well as continuous improvement through objective measurements.
  • The latest version is based on ISO’s High-Level Structure (HLS), the set of 10 clauses that all ISO standards are built on. By ensuring that all management system standards share the same look and feel, greater integration with different system disciplines is made possible, such as environment, occupational health and safety, information security, and others.
ISO 14001
  • ISO 14001 is an international management system standard that guides us to focus on the right things when it comes to planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company’s environmental work.
In turn, an environmental management system becomes a cost-effective way to manage environmental issues and environmental work, as we use our resources correctly. We continuously work to reduce our environmental impact.

Benefits of working according to the standard:

    • More sustainable business processes and streamlined environmental work
    • Reduced use of resources and materials
    • Decreased waste in operations
    • Increased credibility for the organization’s environmental efforts

Reporting in accordance with the GHG Protocol

– A comprehensive solution for sustainability

We take responsibility all the way

At IPUR, sustainability is about more than just materials and production. It’s about building lasting relationships, doing responsible business, and creating value at every level – for people, the environment, and the economy.

We work with a long-term perspective, consciously and with curiosity – both in how we manufacture our products and in how we collaborate with customers and suppliers. Sustainability is not a separate department – it is integrated into the way we think, lead, and operate.

What is the GHG Protocol?

The GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas Protocol)  is a global standard that helps organizations measure, manage, and report their greenhouse gas emissions in a consistent and transparent way. It facilitates climate reporting and action across industries and sectors.protokollet

Scope 1, 2 and 3

To simplify and clarify emission reporting, the GHG Protocol divides emissions into three categories: Scope 1, 2, and 3. Reporting on Scope 1 and 2 emissions is mandatory, while Scope 3 reporting is currently voluntary. This structure helps organizations understand where emissions occur along the value chain and what actions are needed to reduce them.

How IPUR works with GHG-Protocol

We conduct emissions calculations in accordance with the GHG Protocol, using a mix of measured data, qualified estimates, and verified database information. All our calculations are documented and verifiable, providing a transparent and reliable picture of our actual climate impact.

Scope 1 – Direct emissions from our own operations, such as energy used in machinery and vehicles. We analyze our total energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy loss reduction and operational efficiency across our production and support systems.

Scope 2 – Indirect emissions from purchased electricity and heating. We reduce these emissions by choosing renewable energy sources.

Scope 3 – Indirect emissions from our entire value chain, including raw materials, transportation, suppliers, and how our products are used and managed after leaving us. We actively work to reduce these emissions by setting clear requirements for our suppliers, using circular raw materials whenever possible, and engaging in ongoing dialogue guided by the GHG Protocol framework.

We Align with the UN Sustainable development goals

The UN Sustainable Development Goals – adopted by all UN member states – represent the most ambitious global agenda for a sustainable future ever agreed upon. By 2030, the goals aim to:

  • End extreme poverty

  • Reduce inequality and injustice

  • Promote peace and justice

  • Solve the climate crisis

At IPUR, we strive to be part of the solution. Through our daily work – in production, partnerships, and business decisions – we contribute to a more sustainable future. For us, it’s about building long-term relationships based on responsibility, respect, and transparency, whether with customers, suppliers, or colleagues.

We believe that sustainability begins in the everyday – in every decision, every material we choose, and every step we take together

The future of polyurethane is 100% chemical recycling – 100% circular.
